Our Mission

As the Sustainable Agriculture and Nature Association (SAN-A), our mission is to strengthen the environmental and economic sustainability of agricultural production by promoting farming practices that protect soil, water, and ecosystems.

Within this scope, we:

  • Support water saving and efficient water management by promoting proper irrigation planning and the correct operation of pressurized irrigation systems, and by bringing field-ready practices that reduce water losses.

  • Protect soil health and productivity by developing and scaling good practices for erosion control, organic matter management, and proper input use.

  • Aim to reduce chemical pressure by encouraging correct dose–timing–method in fertilizer and pesticide use, integrated pest management, and safe application standards, with the goal of lowering residue risks.

  • Support production models that safeguard ecosystems and biodiversity by promoting pollinator-friendly practices, habitat improvement, and initiatives that strengthen wildlife corridors.

  • Increase agricultural resilience for climate change mitigation and adaptation through nature-based solutions, expanding practices that reduce carbon emissions, and supporting carbon/water footprint studies.

SAN-A carries out its work through training, demonstration (pilot) practices, monitoring and evaluation, and collaboration. We develop accessible training programs for producers, young engineering candidates, agricultural workers, and local stakeholders, and we measure and report the impact of implemented practices. We also aim to develop projects at national and international scale through our capacity in project design, implementation, reporting, and partnership management in line with the project cycle requirements of domestic and international funding programs.

Our Vision

SAN-A's vision is to become a trusted civil society network—both nationally and internationally—that contributes to transforming agricultural production into a system that respects water and soil limits, is aligned with ecosystems, and is resilient to climate risks; a network with measurable impact and strong collaboration capacity.

In line with this vision, we aim to:

  • Expand demonstration practices centered on protecting water and soil resources,

  • Promote low-carbon farming approaches that improve producer welfare while reducing environmental impact,

  • Increase the number of projects that generate measurable and reportable impact through tools such as carbon footprint, water footprint, and MRV (Measurement, Reporting and Verification),

  • Establish a continuous learning and capacity-building ecosystem for young engineering candidates, farmers, and agricultural workers,

  • Develop lasting partnerships among public institutions, local governments, universities, cooperatives, the private sector, and NGOs.

In the long term, we aim for SAN-A's work to become scalable models that increase efficiency in agricultural production, protect natural resources, and strengthen society's access to safe, nutritious food—applicable across different regions.
